West Pittston Historical Society: The West Pittston Historical Society was formed in the summer of 2001 when a group of borough residents gathered for the purpose of creating an organization to raise awareness of the historical assets of West Pittston and to preserve them for future generations.

Greater Pittston Historical Society: Our mission is to discover, collect, study, organize, preserve and display the history of Greater Pittston and to make that history available to the general public, public schools, researchers and historians.

Luzerne County Historical Society: The mission of the Luzerne County Historical Society is to preserve and promote the collective history and heritage of Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

Wyoming Valley History: Wyoming Valley, PA local history 1675-1975. Stories of people, places, and events of the Wyoming Valley have deep roots, but new information is being continually uncovered.

Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society – Hanover Green Cemetery:Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society mission is to encourage and promote the accurate recording and preservation of family data, vital statistics and history pertaining to both direct ancestors and to others related to or otherwise associated with a specific family line and inter-related families, to provide instruction in methods of obtaining such information, and to install an appreciation of how ancestors' lives intertwined with local and national history.

Osterhout Free Library - Genealogy: A variety of genealogy resources are available including Newspaper Holdings, Luzerne County Census, City Directories and a Local History Collection. Library staff can search for obituaries in archived local newspapers only when provided with an exact date of death: month, date, and year.

Ellis Island: On April 17, 2001 the Foundation launched the American Family Immigration History Center® (AFIHC), on Ellis Island and the World Wide Web, which makes the 25 million arrival records and over 900 ships of passage pictures in the Ellis Island Archives available to everyone.

This free site offers access to an extraordinary database of information on 11 million immigrants from 1820 through 1892, the year Ellis Island opened. More than 100 million Americans can trace their ancestors to this early immigration period.
